In Progress: Daniel Libeskind: Peace of Place

Daniel Libeskind: Peace of Place tells the story of renowned architect Daniel Libeskind and his lifetime spent designing spaces that help to heal communities scarred by tragedy and intolerance.

From Berlin to Pittsburgh, Daniel Libeskind has spent much of his career creating spaces that explore history, while offering hope and healing.

Constructed with two parallel narratives, this film will tell the story of Daniel Libeskind and the story of the reconstruction of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

As a physical representative of Libeskind’s personal and professional history, the new Tree of Life building -- desecrated in a murderous attack in 2018 --  will function as the narrative vehicle for his story.

The film will capture the building process including the removal of artifacts, the groundbreaking and subsequent renovations of the small urban synagogue.
